The Medusa Chronicles: “Jupiter Within” (6.54-6.67)
This setting has potential. This story never had any.
Fullmetal Alchemist: Conqueror of Shamballa (part eleven)
...how many of these things did they build?
Fullmetal Alchemist: Conqueror of Shamballa (part ten)
One of this movie's most consistent elements is that every version of Alphonse Elric in every parallel dimension is a raging douchebag.
Fullmetal Alchemist: Conqueror of Shamballa (part eight)
The problem with uneven writing is that you can never tell if a mystery is being raised intentionally, or if it's just an author fuckup.
Fullmetal Alchemist: Conqueror of Shamballa (part seven)
Maybe realities like the world of the movie he's working on, in which there's magic instead of science, where dragons are as common as horses. Maybe instead of a director, that world's Fritz Lang is a criminal. Or a king. Or a woman.
Edward keeps his mouth shut, unwilling to confess that the truth is actually far, far stupider than that.
Fullmetal Alchemist: Conqueror of Shamballa (part six)
If you were to imagine a live action version of King Bradley, would it look even remotely like this man?
Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century S1E1: “the Fall and Rise of Sherlock Holmes”
Do two out of three, if not more, Sherlock Holmes adaptations get this wrong? Yes.
Should I hold that minor point against this particular cartoon? Probably not.
Will I hold it against the cartoon anyway just because it's already earned my contempt? Yes.
The Bots Master S1E1: "Adios ZZ"
The most interesting thing about this pilot is that, with a bit of tinkering, it could have easily been another show's villain backstory episode.
Fate/Zero S1E11: “Discussing the Grail” (continued)
Easily and by far the worst episode of Fate/Zero so far.
Bakemonogatari E9: “Nadeko Snake, part 1”
You know what someone should do? Do an extensive edit of this show, excising all the pedo shit, as much as possible of the harem shit, and stitching what's left together into some new starting and stopping points for episodes. Release this new cut under a title like "Bakemonogatari, But For Human Beings." It would be a good show. I'd watch it.
RWBY S6E7: "The Grimm Reaper"
There was ONE point, at the end of "The Coming Storm," where I actually wanted to watch the next episode for its own sake. Where I'd managed to regain some scrap of the investment and goodwill that I first started the series with back in 2017, and was interested to see what would happen next. But, it was short lived.
RWBY S6E6: “Alone In the Woods” (continued)
...the title of the episode is a knock-off of "Alone in the Dark," isn't it? Only without even making sense, because no one is alone in this episode. Just cram in another reference no matter how inappropriate it is. Goddamnit.
RWBY S6E6: “Alone In the Woods”
I was wrong. Completely wrong. Ignore everything I said back there. Never do this.
RWBY S6E5: “The Coming Storm”
It's just bizarre to me that the writers are dogwhistling a romantic arc. I can't even say if I like it or dislike it. It's just too fucking weird for me to assess.
Bakemonogatari E5: “Mayoi Snail, part 3” (continued)
An altruist who will help anyone in need, regardless of who they are!...which so far includes a woman with a penchant for fetishy maid outfits who he practically drools over, and a little girl who he sexually assaults. How altruistic. How selfless.
